Summer 2026

I feel like every Summer I say I want to do fun things and then I do nothing all Summer. Which to my defense isn't actually my fault. My family has stopped doing the things we used to. We don't go to Canada's Wonderland anymore, and we don't go to the CNE. My sister is busy in the Summer so we never leave the house unless she can.

But still, I did do some things, and I am still happy about those things.

I know the Summer Solstice was June 21st, but I'm going to start a bit earlier than that, and begin this post in May.

MY ROOM IS PINK!!!!!! I have made SO much progress in the last few years towards turning my room into my childhood dream room. I love it.

Before
Halfway through painting
After
Moving on to the actual Summer, I went berry picking!!

I also got some Scooby and Shaggy bath duckies!!

I started retaking grade 12 English as well..

And relocated my Star Wars shirt which I was kind of scared I may have donated.. Before this year I hadn't worn it since I was 14 at Hollywood Studios. I never actually watched Star Wars until October 2025, and for a long time I thought I never would. But thankfully, I did not donate this.

Aaaaaand the rest of this will pretty much just be a photo dump from cottage trips.
ROAD TRIPPPPP

I still kind of wish I did more this Summer, but oh well. I've got plenty of eventual Summers ahead where I'll be able to do things on my own instead of waiting around for family to do them with me.

Right now it's time to get ready for spooky season!!

My Thoughts About Descendants: Wicked Wonderland

Whether they've watched it or not, everybody seems to have an opinion on Wicked Wonderland. Some people think the movies should have ended at the third, some people love the new movies (me!!), and some people don't have a problem with the movies continuing, but do have some complaints (also me).

I've loved the Descendants movies since the first one came out in 2015. For some reason as a kid I always found interest  in the villains of movies more than the heroes, so Descendants was perfect for me.

To be honest, when Cameron Boyce died, I assumed Descendants would end too. But I'm glad it didn't. A lot of people are upset that it continued on without him, or even just the original cast in general, but Descendants was never the original fours story.

Descendants is the story of ALL the fairytale children, and Wonderland was a really cool route for them to take in continuing the story.

NOW for my thoughts on the fifth movies in this series.. Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.

1. Chloe becoming a villain makes no sense

Chloe's villain arc stems from being upset Red isn't paying enough attention to her after she, according to Chloe, helped Red so much in Rise of Red.

The thing is though.. She didn't. Chloe spent almost all of Rise of Red calling Red an evil villain who could never change. She disagreed with and argued with every decision Red made, all while Red was doing everything in her power to try and save Cinderella's life, which Chloe does not seem to have anywhere near enough appreciation for.

Red saved Chloe's mother's life and Chloe does nothing but complain.

Not to mention Red barely knows Chloe. It's not all that odd that she isn't being super close and friendly with Chloe in Wicked Wonderland.

While there were years between the release of the two movies, Red and Chloe have only known each other for about three or four days.

They meet at Auradon Prep, time travel the same day, spend two days in the past, return, and then the next day after they each return to their homes is when Wicked Wonderland starts.

So Red and Chloe haven't even known each other a week, Chloe spent those days complaining about and insulting Red constantly, and then she has a villain arc because Red isn't treating her like a life long best friend?

It makes no sense.

2. Pink should have been the villain

Well, the secondary villain. Maddox, of course, would still have been the primary villain. However, if anybody in the main friend group was going to have a villain arc, Pink would have made the most sense.

Pink has spent her whole life with this presumably wonderfully loving sister who is the only person in the world who understands her. Then one day Red suddenly has no interest in her, and thinks she's the most annoying, overdramatic person on Earth.

Pink could have perfectly mirrored Bridget. She's sweet, kind, and finds the best in every situation, and everybody thinks that makes her weak. She is exactly like her mother was at her age. It would have been an interesting consequence if Bridget being good meant her daughter becoming evil for the same reasons anyway.

(I do think she will MAYBE have a villain arc in the next movie though.. Depends if I'm reading into certain things Disney has been putting Descendants content correct or not)

3. What was Red and Pink's relationship like before?

I don't think enough people talk about how Red and Chloe effectively stole the lives of alternate universe versions of themselves. Red is not the Red who Pink grew up with.

Red has lived an entire life without Pink, and Pink has never known a day without her big sister.

So how big was the switch between before and after the old timelines Red replaced the new timelines Red?

We see some big differences mentioned in Perfect Princess.

The biggest is of course that Red is not a villain kid anymore, as stated by the title itself. She's suddenly expected to be proper royalty. A "Perfect Princess" after a lifetime locked away in her mother's palace with no freedom.

Even her bedroom is way more pink in Wicked Wonderland compared to Rise of Red.

Her entire aesthetic is different in the new timeline, also confirmed by lines like "Your favorite bow is right here" which Red responded to with "This is weird". The new timelines version of Red was at the very least incredibly aesthetically different from the old timelines Red.

She was also more than likely incredibly different in personality. The original timelines Red was raised by a tyrannical queen who believed love was weak, and kindness only gets you hurt. The new timelines Red was raised by a loving mother who probably kept all of her joy we see she had in high school in Rise of Red.

Those are VERY different circumstances to grow up under, and would absolutely result in different personalities forming for each timelines Red.

Which leads back into how I think Pink should have had a villain arc instead of Chloe.

New timeline Red was probably the only person who truly understood her sister. Pink seems confused every time Red gets annoyed with her, and probably thinks she did something wrong to make Red start being so distant.

We see some flashbacks to Red and Pink's relationship when they were really little, but I am incredibly curious what their relationship looked like even just a couple days before new timeline Red was replaced with original timeline Red.

4. Why doesn't Red seem to care that Maddox's life is ruined in the new timeline?

Maddox was Red's only real friend in Rise of Red. He invented the pocket watch just so she could have a chance at a happy life despite knowing it could change so many other things too.

So why doesn't Red care that his entire life is ruined in the new timeline? He spent years on the Isle of the Lost, and even when he returns to Wonderland he's still seen as crazy.

The worst part is Red could have cleared everything up as soon as she arrived in the new timeline because he's not crazy. He's telling the truth, and she knows it.

So, why doesn't Red say anything to her mom? Why does she let the man who was previously her best friend suffer instead of just owning up to the fact that she did in fact alter the timeline. If she told Bridget what happened she still wouldn't have been evil.

There was no damage to be done by telling Bridget the truth. All it would have done was give Maddox and Max a better life.

My (Kind of Obscure) Travel Bucket List

Starting with the least obscure: I want to visit all the Disney parks and resorts!! So far I've been to Disney World, and technically Aulani. Though I didn't stay over night, I only had breakfast reservations at their restaurant, so I'm not sure it counts.

I went to Disney World for the first time when I was six, and started to gain interest in the history of the parks and company around ten or eleven when I wrote my first speech for school and chose to write it about Walt Disney's life story.

So, of course, going to all of the Disney parks/resorts has been a bucket list item since I was about twelve.

Top: Disneyland Park, Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland
Bottom: Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Aulani Resort and Spa

Stemming from the same root cause is Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. Tivoli Gardens is the main theme park which Walt Disney took inspiration from while coming up with Disneyland. There's even a rollercoaster which is still operational today that Walt Disney rode on his visit. It opened in 1843, and is one of the most visited theme parks in the world to this day.

Very creatively.. The name of the rollercoaster Walt Disney rode is "Rutschebanen" which literally translates from Danish as "Rollercoaster".

Rutschebanen, AKA The Mountain Coaster

Moving away from Disney related things, though staying in the real of theme parks (and in Europe), I also really want to visit Efteling (Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands) someday. The park has a huge focus on fairytales, and honestly just looks magical.

I've seen people call it creepy before, but I just don't see that. I think it's rather cute, actually.

Fun fact about me that explains this a bit better: My interest in Disney parks has expanded as I've gotten older. I find a lot of interests in theme parks as a whole, and think they're really cool. This one opened in 1951, so a few years before Disneyland in 1955.

A map of Efteling Park

The last theme park on this list if Europa Park in Rust, Germany. The park opened in 1971 and is home to six themed hotels. Honestly, this is the theme park I want to visit the most, even more than any of the Disney parks.

Europa Park is, as the name suggests, a theme park themed to the countries of Europe. It has areas themed to Germany, England, France, Greece, The Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Austria, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Scandinavia, and Spain.

There are also other themed areas in the park which are not themed to countries such as Adventure Land, Grimms Fairytale Forest, and The Mimimoys Kingdom.

Personally, I most want to explore Grimms Fairytale Forest. I love anything that makes you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale.. Hence the love of theme parks. Not to mention my life long love of Rapunzel in particular, who is featured in that section of the park.

Grimms Fairytale Forest
Rapunzel's Tower

Next up is sort of a theme park, but it's technically a theme water park, which is why I said Europa Park was the last theme park. Volcano Bay in Orlando, Florida.

I have wanted to visit Volcano Bay since it opened in 2017. Much like theme parks, I love water parks. When I was a kid my family went to Great Wolf Lodge every year for my birthday. I love everything about water parks. Floating in the lazy river, sitting by a pool eating lunch that somehow tastes better there than it could anywhere else, going on water slides, it's all fun. Except those water slides that drop you. Those I am scared of.

Okay, now really off the topic of theme parks, including the water variety. I want to go to the Precious Moments Chapel located in Carthage Missouri.

Some background here considering I'm not really Christian (though I was raised Catholic) so this is a little random. My dad used to give me a Precious Moments figurine every Christmas when I was little. I also have them from my first communion, first birthday, Disney collectable ones. I have tons of these figures, and have developed my own interest in them as an adult.

The chapel is absolutely gorgeous and so is everything surrounding it. I mean just look at it.

And now that I've just put a church on this list.. I'm putting Las Vegas next. Not for the sake of gambling though. I actually have zero interest in that at all. I just think it looks really cool. Like a next level version of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

It's just complete nonsense, and it's awesome. A giant collection of obscure mismatching tourist traps and disorienting hotels. It's perfect.

I want to go and explore everything SO badly.

Last but certainly not least is the real Scream/Stu Macher house in California. I found out recently that they actually run tours of the house and I LOVE the original Scream.

Maybe a little odd considering it's a horror movie but it is absolutely one of my comfort movies. I adore everything about that movie. I watched nothing except it for like a week straight after I watched it for the first time.

Safe to say if I ever go to California this will be on my list of things to see.
